KATIE RECEIVES KEITH BUCHANAN MEMORIAL CUP

Katie Reid, Club Captain is presented with the Keith Buchanan Memorial Cup by Jack Beattie, President of Lisburn City Swimming Club. The Keith Buchanan Cup is presented to the Swimmer of the Year based on their achievements at Irish Level.

Katie’s list of achievements for the 08/09 season include qualifying for the 2012 squad and subsequently training with the High Performance Team, 3 golds, 1 silver and a bronze at the Irish Youth Champs, Division 1 plus breaking an Ulster Junior Record. Katie also attended the British Championships representing Ireland and made the semi-final of the 100 backcrawl. She represented Ireland in the UK Schools Games, winning a bronze medal in the 100 backcrawl. Katie has had numerous gold medals in Open Championships throughout the season and has just been placed 2nd in the Junior Sports Personality of the Year Awards by Sport Lisburn.
