A New Season a New Team…... Lisburn City Swimming Club started their Teletots campaign at Home on Sunday evening under new Captains’ Zoe Smyth and Cameron McAteer.
Their first meet was against newly promoted Banbridge who had joined Division 1. With lots of trepidation the young swimmers entered into the unknown but were up for the challenge and prepared for the night ahead.

However, the gap was increasing between the two competing teams and going into the Freestyle event, the scores were Lisburn 159 – Banbridge 121.
The Freestyle event saw strong swimming from the Lisburn team in all of the age Groups, 1st place went to Nadine Pollock, Rachel Bethel, Amy Seawright, Keelan Logan, Alexandra Hunter and Cameron McAteer and many personal bests were recorded. 2nd place and important points for the Lisburn side were taken by Rebecca Woods, Daurish Abelekhoob, Neil Saulters and Alex Walker.
Going into the last event and on home turf Lisburn secured 1st place in all of the Freestyle relays, strong performances by all these young kids. The visiting ’98 team were no match for the home side made up of Zoe Smyth, Alex Walker, Alexandra Hunter and Cameron McAteer. They again swam a superb event breaking the minute in a time of 59.65 some 6 seconds ahead of their competitors.
It was all over, Lisburn’s first TELETOTS meet of the season, a valiant performance by Banbridge, but Lisburn were just too strong for the visitors, and the final score was Lisburn 232 – Banbridge 168. Banbridge were gracious in defeat and it was a pleasure for Lisburn to host the visitors who are new to the Division.
Well done to the team……
